Battlefield Acupuncture is a specialised form of auricular acupuncture that uses small, semi-permanent ASP® needles placed at specific points on the ear.
Originally developed within the U.S. military, Battlefield Acupuncture was developed in 2001 by U.S. Air Force physician Dr Richard Niemtzow for use in military and deployed settings.
BFA has since gained attention internationally as a convenient approach to auricular acupuncture.
The tiny ASP® needles are designed to remain in place for several days, allowing the selected auricular points to continue being stimulated while you go about your usual daily activities.
Auricular Therapy may be used to support:
• Pain management
• Relaxation and general wellbeing
• Sleep and stress management
• Emotional wellbeing
• Overall health and wellness
Laser Acupuncture is also available for those who are uncomfortable with needles or prefer a non-invasive approach.
Instead of inserting needles, low-level laser light is applied to selected acupuncture or auricular points. This provides an alternative for people who may be needle-sensitive, including those who simply prefer a gentler, needle-free experience.
I use Sedatelec ASP® semi-permanent auricular needles, manufactured in France and widely used by practitioners internationally.
